HCSB Reduces Implant Costs By 20% at Specialty Hospital
Working in conjunction with Jamie C Kowalski Consulting (JCKC) at Premier Surgical Institute in Galena, Kansas, Michael Bohon led a contracting process on implant purchases. Focusing on orthopedic and spinal agreements he was able to employ a collaborative approach to the supplier/customer relationship in order to achieve the outstanding results.
Bohon stated, "There were two main factors that contributed to the success. The surgeons were deeply involved in the process and both sides of the equation (suppliers and the customer) were ultimately satisfied with the result."
He and others from JCKC identified an additional $200K in achievable savings opportunities in other supply areas and are in the process of implementing them.
